I am Sandy – wife, mother of five, MIL of three and Nandy to six.
Health and nutrition have been passionate subjects of study for me since 1989 when I borrowed my mother’s nursing books on mental health and nutrition. I read every single word and filled spiral notebooks with hand written notes. I made charts, planned out each and every morsel and/or liquid for my family to consume and set about trying to live out what I was learning. We went from eating Chef Boy Ardee pizza kits and feeding the kids bologna sandwiches with chips to eating homemade meals with the right balance of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and adequate servings of fruits and vegetables.
In the years since, there have been healthy and not so healthy failures and/or improvements. All are a part of a journey in seeking how to nourish our minds, spirits, and bodies.
“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”
Through the years, I have kept studying on our immune systems, nutritional needs and of natural ways to build and meet those.
I am still learning and now I am on a journey to lose weight as naturally as possible. It is my prayer to give God all the glory and to learn as He leads on eating well, exercising and living closer to the way I believe He first intended.
